ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Social Media Marketing Intern at Marketing Valley, you will support our digital marketing efforts by assisting with content creation, engagement, and strategy execution. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in social media marketing within the beauty, wellness, fashion, and lifestyle industries.
You will play an active role in content production, audience engagement, analytics, and brand outreach, helping to grow and refine our digital presence while gaining valuable industry experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Content Creation & Planning
– Assist in brainstorming and creating engaging social media content (graphics, captions, short-form videos, and carousels).
– Support the end-to-end content creation process, from concept development to post-production, ensuring polished, high-quality content.
– Help schedule and publish posts across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Pinterest using scheduling tools (e.g., Later, Metricool, or native platform schedulers).
– Research and propose content ideas based on industry trends and Marketing Valley’s brand aesthetic.
2. Social Media Management & Engagement
– Monitor and engage with comments, DMs, and community discussions to foster relationships with our audience.
– Assist in engaging with potential clients and industry professionals to increase brand visibility.
– Attend photoshoots and events to capture social media content when applicable.
– Track and incorporate relevant trends, hashtags, and viral content into Marketing Valley’s strategy.
3. Video Editing & Graphic Design
– Utilize CapCut or similar tools to edit short-form video content for Reels and TikTok.
– Leverage Canva to create visually appealing social media graphics.
4. Analytics & Reporting
– Track key social media performance metrics (engagement, follower growth, reach, and website traffic).
– Prepare monthly reports with insights and recommendations for content improvement.
5. Research & Competitor Analysis
– Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and emerging social media tactics.
– Provide insights on successful campaigns from competitors and suggest creative approaches.
6. Administrative & Ad-Hoc Support
– Assist in managing influencer collaborations, outreach, and content approvals.
– Support in creating case studies, presentations, and audits for potential clients.
– Efficiently handle inbound email communications, providing timely and professional responses.
– Assist in basic email marketing and social media copywriting tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
While this is an entry-level position, the ideal candidate should have some background in social media marketing, content creation, or digital marketing. The role requires creativity, adaptability, and a passion for social media trends, particularly in the beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and wellness industries.
Required Qualifications:
– Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
– Strong writing and communication skills for crafting engaging captions and messaging.
– Basic understanding of Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Pinterest for business use.
– Proficiency in Canva and CapCut (or similar design and video editing tools) for content creation.
– Experience or knowledge of Google products (Drive, Sheets, Docs).
– Ability to work independently, stay organised, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
– Detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
– Passion for social media, branding, and digital content creation, especially in the beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or wellness industries.
– Ability to embrace feedback and apply it effectively to improve content and workflows.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus, but Not Required):
– Experience with social media scheduling tools like Metricool, Later, or Planoly.
– Basic knowledge of SEO, hashtags, and social media analytics.
– Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo).
– Previous experience in social media marketing, internships, or personal projects showcasing content creation.
– Experience with basic video editing for Reels, TikToks, and short-form content.
– Ability to project manage tasks while keeping ROI and engagement impact in mind.
– Comfortable with flexible working schedules if needed for content deadlines or engagement tasks.
